Andrew was born on December 8, 1989 in Sioux City, Iowa. Son of Ricky D. and Johnette Gatzemeyer, he graduated from the South Sioux City, Nebraska public High School. Andrew loved playing baseball as a kid through high school as a catcher with his father Rick coaching him.
