Andrew Hagopian Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 7, 2025.
Andrew Anthony Hagopian, 91, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, in Freehold, New Jersey. Born on a 1934 December morning in Weehawken, New Jersey, Andrew lived a long and fulfilling life marked by service, dedication, and a deep connection to those around him.
Andrew proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War era. Stationed in Guam, he contributed to vital military operations and later continued his commitment through extended service in the military reserves. His time in uniform reflected his steadfast sense of duty and responsibility.
Following his military service, Andrew embarked on a distinguished career that spanned several decades. He worked with ITT in their defense communications division and later held positions with ITT World Communications. in New York. He concluded his professional journey at Estee Lauder, bringing his expertise and work ethic to every role he undertook.
Known affectionately as Andy by many who knew him, he was a man of many talents and interests. He had a passion for fishing and skiing – activities that brought him joy and adventure throughout his life. A devoted fan of baseball, Andy especially loved watching games played by his beloved Boston Red Sox.
Andy's warmth extended far beyond his professional accomplishments or personal hobbies. He was known throughout his neighborhoods in Cranford and later Manchester as someone who could talk to anyone and help everyone – and he did. Whether it was fixing something around the house or offering advice on how to solve a problem, Andy was always ready with a solution and a smile. His neighbors remember him as a likable fellow whose generosity and good nature left a lasting impression.
Andrew was the beloved husband of wife Carol, the loving father of Diane Somers and James Hagopian; cherished grandfather to Kevin Hagopian, Kristin Hagopian, Brian Hagopian, Pamela Jacobson, Stephanie Somers, William Somers and a devoted great-grandfather of Aaron and Alex Jacobson.
May the memory of Andrew Anthony Hagopian bring comfort to all who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life well lived through service, kindness and community spirit.
