Andrew Nickolas Hooe, age 24, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Andrew was a creative; he built vast worlds in his mind, in his journal, through models, and in the games he played. He was an avid reader and a creative writer. Halloween and Christmas were his favorite times of year. He loved dressing up, cosplay at MTAC, and decorating for the holidays. He loved going to MTAC every year. Andrew was so talented he was able to create his own cosplays for the events. Andrew loved history; from medieval times to World War II, he was curious about all of it. He was a modern-day Don Quixote – chivalrous in an age when chivalry had been forgotten. He had an impressive collection of swords, knives, and books. Andrew was a talented baker who would make recipes of all sorts. He had dreams of opening his own confectionary shop. He was a huge fan of fireworks, and every year did a bigger show than the year before. Andrew was kind, loyal, and fiercely protective of those he loved.
Andrew was preceded in death by his grandparents: Steve Mays, Owen Stone, Eva Hooe, Richard Wilson, Betty Wilson, and Florence and Ivan Hooe, and his uncle Charlie Welch.
Andrew is survived by his mother Susan Stone (Steven) of Henderson, KY; father Nickolas Hooe (Janna) of Poseyville, IN; sister Olivia Marie Hooe (Rollin McLean III) of Henderson, KY; brother Samuel Stone (Kasey Aubrey) of Henderson, KY; grandparents: Donna Mays of Henderson, KY, Alan and Rose Hooe of Newburgh, IN, Kathy Wilson of Poseyville, IN, and Mickie Myers of Henderson, KY; aunts and uncles: Brenda and Johnny Roedel, Barbie Scoggins, Angie and Jimmy Linton, Alanna Welch, Sherry Higgins, Steve Billings, Sr., Brad Mays, April Hogan, Kevin Mays, Stephanie and Jason Dawson; nephew Elias Stone; many cousins; and his most treasured companion, Cara, his cat.
All are welcomed and invited to Andrew's Life Celebration from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Chaplain Dan Yancey officiating.
