Andrew Jackson "Jack" Jones, Jr.

Andrew Jackson “Jack” Jones Jr. was born on June 6, 1937, in Baird, Texas, and went home to be with the Lord on September 12, 2025, in Magnolia, Texas, surrounded by his family. He was 88 years old.

Jack was the beloved son of Andrew Jackson Jones Sr. and Elsie Lavonna (Dickerson) Jones. He was their second child and only son. He is preceded in death by his parents, his four sisters—Norma Seltz, Betty Carlisle, Barbara Hotchkiss, and Louann Smith—and his son-in-law, Joe Dudley Seals.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Leoma “Ruth” Campbell Jones, the love of his life. Together they raised a family that became Jack’s greatest joy. He leaves behind his children: Andrew Jackson “AJ” Jones III (Tammy), Cindy Seals (Joe Dudley), Michelle Phillips (Steve), and Jina Mobley (Stan). Jack was a proud Paw Paw to his grandchildren—Scott Dulaney (Tia), Nicole Boyle (Paul), Zachary Phillips (Alison), Aaron Dulaney (Sheryl), Jacob Register (Nicky), Morgan Phillips, Jerod Mobley, Cori Husky (Kraig), and Andrew Jackson “Drew” Jones IV—along with 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He also leaves behind many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were blessed by his life.

In 1957, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served his country faithfully for four years. On July 14, 1958, he married Ruth, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion. After his military service, Jack worked for West Texas Utility in Abilene, then later moved his family to Houston where he worked as an electrician for Brown & Root. He eventually became a plant manager for American National Carbide, where he dedicated many years until his retirement in 2001. Following retirement, Jack and Ruth made their home in Magnolia, Texas.

Jack had a passion for life and a deep love for his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing fast cars, and playing music. Above all, he was a man of faith and family, whose legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Luncheon will be held on Saturday, September 20, at 1:00 p.m. at LifePoint Church, 38337 Spur 149, Magnolia, Texas.
