Andrew Glenn Katzer, 53, passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2025, at his home in San Francisco, California.

Andrew was born on October 22, 1971, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, to Eugene and Rosaland Katzer. He was the youngest of 9 children.

He attended elementary school and Junior High school in Stevens Point. He moved to the San Francisco area of California in 1985 with his parents and sister, Jennifer. He graduated from Northgate High School of Mount Diablo Unified School District in Walnut Creek, California, on June 19, 1989.

Andrew became a paralegal after graduating from high school. In his later years he was working as a personal attendent helping elderly and disabled individuals.

Andrew is remembered by family as being a happy child, he was always smiling and making those around him laugh. His brother, Dan, taught him to ski when he was about 7 years old which Dan remembers him as being a natural skier. He loved music, enjoyed talking about the many concerts and music festivals he had attended, one of the benefits of living in the San Francisco area . He loved a wide range of musicians and shared his love of music with others. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hiking and kayaking. He talked about his travels to Europe when he was younger and how much he enjoyed these trips. He loved animals having had both pet dogs and cats.

Andrew has a devoted group of friends whom expressed their love for him and deep sadness of his passing, with one friend saying he was loved by everyone. His passing was difficult for family and friends as he was taken much too soon.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Rosaland. He is survived by siblings: Lynda Jessen, Pamela (Gene) Clark, David (Carrie)Katzer, Penny (Rick) Penick, Cindy (John) Evans, Jean Katzer (James Braga), Jennifer (Jeff) Herron as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Andrew's life will be held on September 29, 2025 at Shuda Funeral Chapel, 3200 Stanley Street, Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Visitation is from 10:30-11:00 AM with the service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Guardian Angel Cemetery, where Andrew will be buried near his parents.
