Andrew M. McCrillis

EAST BROOKFIELD: Andrew M. McCrillis, 45, passed away on June 30, 2022, in Charlotte, NC after a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 12 years, Jennie, his parents Paul and Michelle (McGuiness) McCrillis, his brother, Joshua and his wife, Jean, and children, Deanna and her fiancée, Olaf Duke, and Devon and his wife, Erin, his sister, Jennifer, and her daughter, Taina. He also leaves his in-laws, Denny and Louise Earle, and Gordon and Debra Van Patten-Steiger, and his sisters-in-law, Ellen and Cherie, and brother-in-law, Mark, and nieces, Rosa and Amelia, and nephew, William. He also leaves his uncle, Stephen McGuiness, and his wife, Nancy, and his aunt, Ann McGuiness Leary, and her husband Ron, and several cousins.
Born in Ware, Andrew graduated from the Carpentry program at Bay Path Regional Vocational High School, in Charlton, MA, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, MA. He also held a certificate as an EMT-Intermediate, from Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester, MA. He was employed by Gaylor Electric, Mooresville, NC as a project manager.
As a member of BSA Troop 238, East Brookfield, he earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1995, and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. As an Adult Scouter he also earned his Wood Badge Certification. He continued to serve the troop as an Assistant Scoutmaster until he moved to North Carolina. He also served as an EMT/Firefighter for the Town of East Brookfield for 20 years.
Calling hours will be Friday, August 5, from 4:00-7:00 PM in J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terrace, Spencer, Ma 01562. Services and interment will be private at a later date at the wishes of his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to BSA TROOP 238 With the notation, The Andrew McCrillis Memorial Campership, c/o Kate Norrie, Howe Lumber Co., P.O. Box 30., East Brookfield, MA 01515.
The family invites you to join them for a potluck Celebration of Life in Memory of Andrew which will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 5:30 pm, at the East Lodge of the Treasure Valley Scout Reservation, 394 Pleasantdale Road, Rutland, MA. We remind you that the Valley is a youth camp, so no alcohol, please.
