Andrew Whitfield “Whit” Moorehead passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 6, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father, son, and friend to all who knew him, and he lived every day for his loved ones. His kind, giving spirit will be felt and honored by those he left behind.
Whit was born March 30, 1989, to Robert Bernard Moorehead Jr. and Sally Moorehead (Routery) and raised in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina. He took immense pride in being from the South and always strived to live up to his image of what a Southern man should be; honorable, industrious, loving, and selfless. He enjoyed being outdoors, target shooting, traveling with his wife, and spending time at home with his family. His inquisitive mind and love of learning led to a depth of knowledge on many historical topics, and he took joy in conversing with elder generations to learn more about local history.
Whit spent his child and teen years growing up in Mount Pleasant where he attended and graduated from high school in 2007. He then went on to achieve a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and religious studies from the University of North Carolina. Later, he returned to school to achieve his EMT and Paramedic licenses. He took great satisfaction in being able to help countless people while working as a paramedic, but his real love was in building with his hands and being outside in the North Carolina sunshine. In 2020, he began doing carpentry work full time. He built his business from the ground up and took considerable pride in his work. Before his death, he had become a private investigator. His fierce devotion to the safety of innocents drove him to this line of work, enabling him to have a career to shift into when he would no longer to be able to do as much physical labor in his older years.
Whit met his wife Kalli, the love of his life, in late 2021. They were married in August of 2023 and have been residing together with their three children in his family home in Mount Pleasant. Together, they expanded his carpentry business and ran a small farm. Whit was exceptionally proud to be able to grow and farm on his family land.
Whit leaves behind his wife, Kalli Moorehead, and their three children, Maria, Charlotte, and Sam. He is survived by his parents, Robert Bernard Moorehead, Jr., Deane Flowers Moorehead of Concord, NC, and Sally Pleasant of Albemarle, NC. He is also survived by a brother, Charles Warren “Buck” Moorehead, and a sister, Laura Moorehead.
