Beloved husband, father and grandfather
Our beloved father, Andrew Renda, age 96, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours on December 9, 2025. Andy was born and raised in Newark, NJ. After graduating from high school, he worked at the Prudential Insurance Co. for over 35 years where he excelled in life insurance sales as manager and district manager. He received multiple awards and citations, leading the office in sales on numerous occasions.
Andy married Marian, the love of his life, in 1951. They would have been married for 74 years this year. He was the father of Andy Jr., Patrice and Mark. Andy and Marian raised their family in Cedar Grove. He was very involved with his children, coaching and supporting them in various sports and activities. He subsequently owned homes in West Orange, Boynton Beach, Florida and Lakewood.
Andy loved the Jersey Shore having purchased two homes in Beach Haven. He enjoyed spending time on Long Beach Island boating, fishing, crabbing and socializing with friends and family. He also loved playing bridge, often participating in competitive games in NJ and Florida or kitchen bridge with his family members or friends. He was an avid golfer and skier, who took his family on many trips to Vermont and Colorado. Andy loved to travel. He and Marian flew and cruised all over the world. He took great delight spending time with his grandchildren and watching them participate in sports and activities.
Andy is survived by his sons Andy (Jennine), Mark and his grandchildren Eric, Chris, Jackie, Nick and Marianna, and his son-in-law, Michael Pieper. He was predeceased by his wife, Marian, who died earlier this year, his daughter, Patrice, and his parents, Mariano and Petrina Renda.
