Andrew Thomas Richards, age 20, of Lyndon, KS, passed away on September 28, 2025 in Olathe, KS.
Andrew, affectionately known as Andy, was born on July 14, 2005, to Marion Richards and Micki Richards. He spent much of his childhood in Lebo, KS, before moving to Lyndon, KS, where he graduated from Lyndon High School in 2024.
Known for his big heart, goofy sense of humor, and unshakable love for biscuits and gravy, Andrew brought laughter and light wherever he went. Andrew loved sports and proudly played football, basketball, and baseball.
After high school, Andrew attended Washburn University and studied Criminal Justice. He embraced life with his trademark energy. He enjoyed cheering on the Chiefs, ding-dong ditching with friends, and never passed up a good pool day.
Andrew had a special gift for making people smile, often by being just a little too funny, a little too loud, and always 100% genuine. He considered his greatest accomplishment to be the love and support he received from so many people throughout his life. Among those he cherished most was his Aunt Tonya, whose care and love meant the world to him.
Those who knew Andrew will remember not only the laughs but the love. Andrew’s presence was a gift, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Andrew is survived by his Girlfriend Emma Clements of Topeka, KS Aunt Tonya Combes (Jimmy) of Lebo, KS; Mother Micki Richards (Ed) of Overbrook, KS; Father Marion Richards of Kansas City, KS; Brother Brett Schimmel of Topeka, KS; Sisters Taylor Schimmel of Melvern, KS; Desarie Richards of Emporia, KS; Aunt Kimberly Bond (Alan) of Lebo, KS; Nieces Gracie Schimmel and Ta’lynn Traver; Nephews Casper Richards and Tate Schimmel.
Many friends that became his family and special ones like Kendal and Tanner Smith; Blaine and Brandi Rogers; Russ Haney; Lakin and Elliott Wobker.
Andrew was preceded in death by his Grandpa Ron Peters.
He leaves behind a lot for all his family and friends and asks them to remember the happier times with him.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
