Andrew I. Salzberg, 62, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 due to a highway collision in Green Lake County.
He was born on June 5, 1962 in Olean, NY and lived his later years in Beloit, WI. Andrew was a 1980 Beloit Memorial High School graduate, and graduated with a degree in Hospitality from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Andrew was a Special Education Teacher in Austin, TX and semi-truck driver for USA Trucking. He was a loving father and uncle. As a youth, he played short-stop in local leagues and loved the Chicago Cubs. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, loved the outdoors, especially fishing and walking his dog, Lady 6. He was a keen birder, movie and music buff, and knew every episode of TV's Star Trek.
Survivors include his children, Sean and Ella Clipper; mother, Joan M. Salzberg; brother, Harold (Cheri) Salzberg; sister, Amy (John Koopmans) Salzberg; and loving nieces and nephews.
Andrew was predeceased by his father, Karl I. Salzberg and sister, Ellen Salzberg.
The family wishes to thank the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center and the ThedaCare Medflight for their care of Andrew.
A remembrance gathering will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Prairie Lakes Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 315 Eureka St., Ripon, WI. 54971.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Andrew and his sister, Ellen who passed on June 9, 2024 will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Rd., Beloit, with Fr. Jim Murphy officiating. Inurnment will be held in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the church.
Memorials in his name may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Fond du Lac County (https://namifonddulac.org/)
