Andrew Samarripa, Sr., age 74, of Houston, formerly of Temple, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at home in Houston surrounded by his family. He was born on December 4, 1949 in Creedmoor, TX the son of Isaac and Valentina (Gomez) Samarripa.
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm with the Rosary being held at 7:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd. Temple, Texas 76504.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will take place on Thursday, February 22 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 707 S. 6th St, Temple, Texas 76504.
Andrew served his country in the United States Army, worked for the Killeen Police Department and for the Texas Department of Public Safety-Highway Patrol, and was currently self employed as the program director for A&A Drug and Alcohol Education.
He is survived by his wife Amelia "Millie" Samarripa of Houston, children, Andrew Samarripa, Jr. of Kempner, Karen Dougherty and husband Mark of McAllen, Benjamin Samarripa and wife Leticia "Tish" of Temple and Brian Narvaez of Angleton.; Grandchildren Zachary Samarripa, Noah Samarripa, Veronica Dougherty, Gabriel Dougherty, Nathaniel Dougherty, Lauren Samarripa, Jacob Samarripa and Mia Samarripa; a sister Mary Galvan of Temple, and a brother Julian Martinez and wife Liz of Temple and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Valentina Samarripa.
