ANDREW A. SANCHEZ SR., 66, went to his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 30, 2024. He was a man of God with a generous heart. He was a father, recent new grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Andrew worked for 33 years at Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Maintenance Coordinator. He loved the outdoors and over the course of his life spent time in the mountains hunting, fishing, riding horses, and snowmobiling. All these things he shared with his son who he was extremely proud of. His son will now carry on the love of the outdoors with his daughter in honor of Andrew Sr.
Andrew was preceded in death by parents Avelino Sanchez Jr. and Mary Frances Sanchez and brother Michael Sanchez Sr.
Andrew is survived by his son, Andrew Sanchez Jr. (Leah), grandchild, Alessandra. Sister-in-law Irene Sanchez, brother Randy Sanchez (Renee), sister Bernadette Wiegel (Phil) and numerous nieces and nephews.
A brief Public Visitation to bid farewell to Andrew Sr. and offer condolences to the family will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at DeVargas Funeral Home in Espanola, NM. At a later date, a private final resting place of Andrew Sr.’s ashes will be done.
