Andrew Sluck

Andrew Sluck, 80, known as Jim Sluck, of Old Forge, died Monday evening at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Patricia Kulpak Sluck. Born in Taylor, he was the son of the late Ignatz and Julia Kotcho Sluck. Jim was a 1952 graduate of Taylor High School and proudly served our country with the US Air Force, during the Korean War era. Until his retirement, Jim owned and operated Kulpak's Bar, Old Forge, for many years. He was parishioner of St. Ann's Basilica and a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Old Forge, until there closing. Over the years, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Pat to Florida during the winter months, visiting his son and his family in both Florida and Texas, golfing with the senior league at Summit Hills, gardening and hunting. He was a member of the Eagle McClure Hose Company, Old Forge. Surviving are a son, Jim and wife Kirsten, Fort Wirth, TX; a granddaughter Katie, also of Fort Wirth; a sister Anna, of Taylor; Nieces and Nephews. A sister, Martha Regan and eight brothers, Frank, Michael, George, John, Joseph, William, Stephen and Peter, preceded him in death. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 am from the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Ann's Basilica. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Old Forge. Family and friends may call Friday 4-7 pm.
