Andrew A. Stahl III, was born on March 20, 1952, to Andrew A. II and Rebecca (Kleinsasser) Stahl. He grew up in the Rosedale Hutterite Colony near Mitchell, SD, where Andy attended school through eighth grade. Following school, Andy helped with dairy cows and doing carpentry at the colony. After an injury, he helped with paperwork at a commercial mill for one year. He then worked as a manager and mixed feed.
On June 20, 1976, Andy was united in marriage with MaryAnn Wipf at the Rosedale Colony. In 1982, Andy and Mary Ann moved to Millbrook Colony and resided there for 20 years.
While living at the Millbrook Colony, Andy worked at the feed mill. In 2002, Andy and MaryAnn moved to Milbank and Andy took a job at The Window Place and worked there until 2011. From 2011 to 2020, he worked at WestCon loading trains. Andy loved working at WestCon and retired in 2020.
Andy loved his job and enjoyed working hard. He was always concerned about providing for his family. He taught his children the satisfaction of hard work. Andy loved his children and grandchildren and spent a lot of time traveling to see them. Even though he struggled to communicate after his stroke, he still enjoyed seeing his loved ones and friends. Anyone who met Andy could never forget him.
After his stroke, Andy enjoyed doing yardwork, helping around the house, and walking as his exercise. He enjoyed listening to SBN and Jimmy Swaggert. Prior to his stroke, his favorite activity was scrap metal salvage with his brother, Gary. Andy had a close relationship with his siblings and was blessed they all lived close and could enjoy each other’s company. He cherished special friends and loved to connect with them from time to time.
