Andrew Tommasi Obituary

Andrew E. Tommasi
August 13, 1939 - July 12, 2025
In loving memory of Andrew Emil Tommasi.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Andrew (Andy) Tommasi, beloved husband, father, nonno, and friend who left us on July 12th, 2025, at the age of 85.
Andy was born August 13, 1939 to John A. and Anita Tommasi at the Vineburg Hospital in Sonoma, California and grew up in the community that would remain close to his heart throughout his life. He was predeceased by his brother John C. Tommasi.
A proud Sonoma native, Andy attended Saint Francis School and Sonoma Valley High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Frances Geisner, whom he married in 1960. Together they built a family and life filled with love and joy and thoroughly enjoyed their favorite pastime of camping together. They were blessed with two children, Tony and Theresa and five grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable pride and happiness.
Andy worked for Albert Wright Machine shop and Sebastiani Winery where his work ethic and commitment were admired by the many friends he worked with. Unable to sit still after retirement, Andy created TnT Yardcare, a yard maintenance company that brought him all around Sonoma, allowing him to visit with his clients and tend their yards.
An avid baseball fan, Andy loved the game dearly. He spent countless hours not just playing but also coaching at every level, from Little League to Babe Ruth to Joe DiMaggio League. His dedication to the sport and the young players he mentored left a lasting impact on the community. His love of sports extended to hunting, fishing and when he was relaxing he enjoyed watching old westerns, a genre he adored. Andy was a member of the local Native Sons Of the Golden West, Parlor 111, as well as a member of the Sons of Italy.
In 2014, at the Golden Age of 75, Andy met Sabina Cesar, a business owner and registered nurse who had moved up from San Francisco to Sonoma, enchanted by its natural beauty.
When Andy met Sabina Cesar, it was love at first sight. For five exciting years they traveled to many countries in Central America, the USA and numerous times to fascinating places in Europe, especially Italy. On April 22, 2020 Andy and Sabina got married, thinking five years of being engaged was long enough. The couple fully enjoyed everything Sonoma had to offer and spent many hours in the company of new and old friends. The memory of those Golden Years will be Sabina's greatest treasure.
Andy leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and a deep love for those around him. Andy was pre-deceased by his wife Frances and grandson Donnie. He is survived by his wife, Sabina, step-daughters Nicole and Francesca, son Tony (Janine), daughter Theresa (John), grandchildren Chelsea, Dominic, Anthony, LeeAnna and numerous nieces and nephews.

Condolances to Andy's family. He will missed so much. My memories of him include him as Midfielder in Little League with Angelo Becerra, Bob Becerra, and the late Gino Del Chairo. Andy was so athletic. I loved watching him play Baseball.
