Andrew A Torre 86 of Jackson, NJ died peacefully at home on Friday, November 1, 2024. Andrew was born in Jersey City and resided in East Paterson before moving to Jackson in 1960. After earning his BS from Rutgers University, Andrew worked as a supervisor for the Jackson Board of Education Transportation Department for 20+ years before creating and developing the software for his company Software Advantage in Cherry Hill. He ran the company with his partner Joe McMullen for 20 years before retiring in 2019. In 1959, Andrew married his wife Patricia Torre and from then on they began creating their family legacy. He loved to spend the cold months in their Lehigh Acres home in Florida, but always made it back to Jersey for Christmas time. Andrew loved traveling the US, going out to dinner with his family and friends, watching the Giants games, making crazy food/drinks concoctions and playing games like dominoes and cards. One of his largest passions was cars, his favorite was his 1986 Canary Yellow Convertible Corvette. He also loved Mustangs and Cadillacs. Most of all Andrew loved having all his family around him, he always requested a big round table so that he could see everyone and never missed a second of conversation.
Andrew is predeceased by his siblings, Charles, Ronald & Carol Torre. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Patricia A Torre; his son, Andrew A Torre & his wife Elizabeth Torre and his daughter, Lisa Torre-Janssen and her husband Richard Janssen; his brother Robert Richards; his four grandchildren Crystal, Ashley, Josephine & Victoria; and his two great grandchildren, Madison & Jaxson. The visitation is Saturday, November 9th from 1-4 PM with a 3:30 PM service at Oliverie Funeral Home 125 S. Cooks Bridge Rd Jackson. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to St Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis TN 38105.
