Died: October 21, 2025 in Macomb Township, MI
Andrew James Volker passed away at his home in Macomb Township, MI on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at the age of 67.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, October 30, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Wenona with Pastor Mark Gruden officiating. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Wenona. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of services. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona has been entrusted with his arrangements.
Andy was born on March 6, 1958 in Streator to Victor and Frances (nee Harcharik) Volker. He was a graduate of Wenona High School in Wenona, class of 1976. He then went on to graduate from Illinois Central College. On June 26, 1982, Andy married Cynthia McClenthen in La Salle. They shared 43 years making memories with their daughters and grandchildren. After many years working as a senior designer, Andy retired in 2022 from SLPT Global Pump Group. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Macomb Township, MI. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed making wood models, making music with his trumpet and singing in his church choir. Doing yard work was also one of his favorite things to do. He was very particular about his lawn and would spend hours mowing, weeding and seeding so he could have the best-looking lawn in the neighborhood. Above everything else, Andy loved his family and granddaughters. His granddaughters were his pride and joy and he was happiest when they were around. Andy will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Andy is survived by his wife, Cynthia; daughters, Heidi (Robert) Johnson and Katherine Volker; granddaughters, Savanna Johnson and Sierra Johnson; siblings, Lyle George (Judith) Volker, Lorraine (the late Roger) Clark, William (Patricia) Volker and twin Otto (Cindy) Volker; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren, Sarah and Stephen Johnson.
Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Macomb Township, Michigan or Zion Lutheran Church, Wenona.
