Mr. Andrew Lewis Winding

Andrew Lewis Winding was born on January 19, 1955, and was a lifelong resident of Liberty, Mississippi. He peacefully departed this life on February 7, 2026, at the Liberty Community Living Center.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7

Andrew attended Liberty Central High School, graduating with the Class of 1974. He began his career at Cruises Supermarket and later worked at Kellwood Garment Factory. After several years of employment in Mississippi, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he worked at Schwegmann Grocery before eventually returning to Mississippi where he was employed at Sanderson Farms. Later he worked in lawn service and construction.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memories will remain in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aline Thompson Winding and Rufus Winding; one brother, Matthew Winding; one brother-in-law, Robert Wilkinson; one sister, Patricia Gray; one great niece, Krystal Winding; a host of uncles and aunts.

Andrew leaves to cherish his loving memories six: sisters Alfreda (Harvey) Cook of Magnolia, MS; Cynthia Wilkinson of Summit, MS; Linda (Tommie) Barnes of Liberty, MS; Joanna Winding of Liberty, MS; Doris Winding of Liberty, MS, and Yvonne Shropshire of Liberty, MS.

He is also survived by four brothers: Donald (Dorothy) Winding of Liberty, MS; Maurice Winding of New Orleans, LA; and Elroy Winding of Byram, MS; & Mark Shropshire of Liberty, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
