June 11, 1989 – March 1, 2026
Andrew “Drew” Charles Winter, 36, of Torrington, Wyoming, passed away on March 1, 2026. Drew was born on June 11, 1989, in Torrington, Wyoming, to Leilani and Todd Winter. His mom later married Robert Swain who helped raise Drew. He was raised in Guernsey, where he built lifelong friendships and countless memories.
Drew attended school in Guernsey, WY where he discovered his love for football and track. He carried that same competitive spirit and energy throughout his life. He graduated. from Torrington High School in 2007. Drew had a passion for spending time with friends and family. Whether he was building Legos, dancing like no one was watching (even though Ashley was always recording), playing corn hole, fishing, camping, hosting BBQs, “grillin and chillin,” or taking on hot food challenges with his best friend. His favorite nights were spent with his kids and wife making smores around the firepit or at the softball fields. He was also a devoted fan of his favorite teams — the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, Duke Blue Devils, and the Savanna Bananas — rarely missing a chance to cheer them on.
In 2009, Drew met the love of his life, Ashley. Together they built a beautiful life centered around love and family. They were blessed with their first child, Amelia "Mia" in 2010 born at 30 weeks gestation and later diagnosed with Prader Willi Syndrome - Mia was one of Drew’s greatest inspirations. Drew was the best dad to Mia, sharing a special bond through their mutual love of sports and spending countless cherished moments together. In 2012, their daughter Amarie "Poodles" was born. Drew and Amarie loved fishing together, creating quiet memories by the water. In 2016, they welcomed their son Aceson "Buzz". Drew and Aceson bonded over gaming, laughter, and father-son adventures. Drew's greatest role in life was being a husband and father. He showed up fully --with patience, humor, strength, and a heart bigger than the Wyoming sky.
Drew worked at Freedom Railcar from 2015 to 2018 before beginning his career with BNSF in 2018, where he worked diligently and built a strong family with his coworkers.
Drew is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Winter; his children, Mia, Amarie, and Aceson; his mother, Leilani Swain; his brother, Casey Winter (Alyssa); his sister, Amanda Winter; his cherished nieces and nephews; and Alan “Al” Monger, who was an amazing and loving adopted father to Drew. He is preceded in death by his father, Todd Winter, and his grandparents, Robert and Phyllis Higgins.
Drew will be remembered for his infectious smile, his sense of humor, his big heart, his unwavering love for his family, and the way he made everyone feel like they belonged. His legacy lives on through his children and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Celebration of Life will be held on March 13, 2026, 2pm at the Elks Lodge in Torrington, WY. All who knew and loved Drew are welcome to join as we honor his life. In honor of Drew's love of sports, guests are encouraged to wear their coed softball or cornhole jersey, Denver Broncos / Colorado Rockies apparel, or anything red or black.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ashley Winter to support their children's future education and care.
