Andronico "Andy" Jose Martinez, a beloved husband and dedicated caregiver, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM, at the age of 83. Born on June 15, 1941, in Capulin, NM Rio Arriba, County, Andy lived a life marked by devotion, hard work, and a deep love for his family. He dedicated his later life to being an Hermano of La Cofradia de Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno de Santo Nino en Capulin.
Andy is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Pablo and Carlotta Martinez, who undoubtedly passed down the values that defined his life of service and love. Siblings, Gavino Martinez, Lucia Gallegos, Mary Salazar, Orlando Martinez, Vidal Martinez, grandsons, Matthew Corrales and Isaiah Maestas. Beloved Tia, Abenilde Morfin. In-laws, Salomon and Adriana Lovato.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eliza Lovato Martinez, who was his partner of 60 years. The legacy of their love will forever be cherished. sons, Gary (Debbie) Martinez, Leonard (Renee) Martinez, Adonais Martinez and Nathan (Julie) Martinez.
For many years, Andy proudly worked as a truck driver in the waste management industry, after beginning his career at a young age, having completed his education through the second grade before diving into various fields from farming to automotive work. His strong sense of responsibility extended beyond his professional life, as he took great pride in ensuring that his beloved wife, Eliza Lovato Martinez, was well cared for throughout their journey together. His commitment to her well-being, especially during her declining health, showcased the depth of his love and dedication.
Beyond his career and family life, Andy found joys in simple pleasures. He loved to go fishing with his family, creating memories that will carry on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to share those moments with him. He also enjoyed the satisfaction of peeling copper and relished his favorite dishes, notably beans and chile. A down-to-earth man, Andy spent countless hours hauling firewood, embodying the values of hard work and determination that shaped his life.
Andy’s character shone brightly in every aspect of his life. He was known for making sure everything around him was nice and neat, reflecting his thoughtful nature. These habits of care extended not just to his home but to the very essence of how he lived: with kindness and an attentiveness that enriched the lives of those around him.

Honorary Pallbearers: Alexandra, Miranda, Adrianna, Anna Lisa, Diego, Cecilia, Samantha, Joseph, Jaxtyn, Jacelyn, and many other nieces and Nephews.
