Andy Piscatelli

Andy Piscatelli of Holmdel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in his beloved community.

Born in South Amboy, Andy attended St. Mary's Grammar School and Rutgers Preparatory School in New Brunswick, where he set several basketball records and was Captain of their 1956 State Championship Team. He later moved to Holmdel in 1971, where he built a life defined by professional success, community involvement, and dedication to family.

Andy was an alumnus of Villanova University and John Marshall Law School and went on to practice law in New York City where he contributed to legal advancements in consumer protection and insurance practices. In addition, he was also a successful international and local entrepreneur.

A passionate supporter of athletics, Andy was deeply committed to his community. He served as a volunteer coach for over 15 years with the Holmdel Youth Athletic Association and restructured the organization to its current status in which thousands of Holmdel youth have participated. He later served as an officer and legal advisor for the Holmdel Pop Warner Football Association saving the Holmdel chapter from League dismissal after an all-out brawl occurred on the field in Keyport amongst spectators and pre-teen athletes.

He was admitted to practice before the New York Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the Federal District Court for the Eastern District, and the United States Tax Court.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Dr. Sandra J. Piscatelli Gatt.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, the former Janet Schachel; his son, Drew and his wife, Jeana, of Holmdel; and his daughter, Pamela Faber and her husband, John, of Virginia Beach.

He was a devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren, and proudly wore his array of high school, college, and graduate school baseball hats from each academic institution they attended. They are Charles Gatt, Dr. Nathaniel Faber, Dr. Jillian Faber, Taylor Gatt, Spencer Faber, Esquire, Andrew Piscatelli IV and Paige Piscatelli, as well as his cherished granddog, Monty.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 22 nd from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 S. Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Funeral service will be Monday, March 23rd at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 229 Johnson Lane, Parlin (Sayreville), NJ.
