Ms. Angela Marie Bates

Angela Marie Bates, 34, of New Bern, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at New Bern Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Cal Langford officiating. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Bates of New Bern; her parents, George and Theresa Bates of New Bern; her grandmother, Julia Bates of New Bern; and her brother, Matthew Bates of Chicago, Illinois. Also surviving her are her boyfriend, Karlos Mizzell and his daughters, Kourtney and Brooke; her aunts, Elizabeth Bates of New Bern and Susan Byrge of New Bern; uncles, Daniel Bates of Hull, Georgia and Richard Beverly Lord of New Bern; and godparents, Glen and Sherra Fulton of Smyrna. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
