Angela Nicole Bies, 48, of Burlington, WI, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at her home in Burlington, WI after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
She was born May 1, 1976 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Mitchell and Dawn (Feld) Honold. Angela graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1994. She received her undergraduate degree from UW River Falls in 1999, before receiving her Master's in Education from Olivet Nazarene University in Buorbonnais, IL in 2005. Angela taught at the Judith Blazer Child Care Center in Sister Bay (1999-2001), Westosha Head Start in Wilmot (2001 - 2002), and in Burlington Area School District at Waller Elementary, starting in 2002. She was employed with Burlington Area School District as a passionate, dedicated elementary school teacher for 22 years, encouraging and inspiring her many students.
On June 18, 2005, she married Scott Bies at St. Rosalia Catholic Church in Sister Bay. Angela and Scott lived in Burlington together, building a beautiful family and many happy memories. These include camping, hunting, raising "the triplets," caring for a "petting zoo" of various animals of fur, fin, and feather, leading Cub Scout Den activities, taking dogs Christmas shopping, completing the Muddy Girl Run with minimal injury, a honeymoon fishing trip, and creating a used car lot in their driveway.
Angela enjoyed attending all her sons' various sports games and activities, spending time in Door County with friends and family, gardening, and reading as many books as she could during the summers. She also tolerated Scott's impulsive decisions like feeding Cheetos to seagulls through the moon roof of their Ford Flex or spinning his wedding ring on tables.
Angela will be missed by her loving husband, Scott; three sons, Sullivan, Max, and Ian; parents, Mitch and Dawn Honold; father and mother-in-law, Garey and Jeanne Bies; sister, Jennifer (Michael) Neitzke; brother, Brandon (Casey) Honold; in-laws Lisa (Patrick) Fernan, Matthew Bies, Julie (Steve) Blair; nieces, Ali Honold, Nora Honold, Kylie Fernan and Georgia Neitzke; nephews, Toby Honold, Sean Fernan, Mason Voight, Anthony (Andrea) Neitzke; as well as her many students over the years, fellow teachers and beloved friends. We also can't forget her dear cats, BB and Gouda; the family dogs Missy and Ellie, and most recently, Rambo the gecko (Ian).
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ronald and Lorraine Feld; and paternal grandparents, William and Amanda Honold..
Angela's life will be honored with a funeral service held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Huehns Funeral Home, 1414 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay with Pastor Sara Feld officiating. She will be laid to rest in Zion Ev. Lutheran Cemetery, West Jacksonport, WI.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service.
A Celebration of Life will occur in the Burlington area at a date to be determined later.
Memorials may be given in her memory to Angie's Snow Angels, 8980 Fish Hatchery Road, Burlington, WI 53105. This fund was created by Angela to provide winter clothing for students at Waller School so all students can play in the snow.
