Angela Blackshear Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cypress Creek Funeral Home and Crematory on Jul. 14, 2022.
ANGELA DAWN SMILEY WHITTAKER WAS BORN MARCH 24,1975, TO DENNIS D. SMILEY AND CHERYL LYNN CARLSON, IN TORRINGTON, WYOMING AT 2:33 AM.
MS. WHITTAKER LEAVES BEHIND HER HUSBAND; ROBERT P. WHITTAKER 54. SHE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY; 5 CHILDREN; AKHEIM PETERSON 29, KHALIEB PETERSON 28, TREVION HALL 26, JANAE SINCLAIR 26, KHAN PETERSON 25: 7 GRANDCHILDREN; BRAYLON AND BRYSON 8, PRYNCTON NATHANIEL FORD 5, PRESTON GIOVONNI FORD,4 KING ALI PETERSON 1 1/2, GIANNA ANGELA PETERSON 1, AND KHALIEB ABDUL PETERSON JR.
ANGELA LOVED TO COOK, DO CRAFTS, AND SPEND TIME WITH HER GRANDKIDS BUT MOST OF ALL, SHE LOVED MEXICAN FOOD. SHE WAS A TRUE TACO FAN AT HEART.
ANGELA GREW UP IN LAS VEGAS NEVADA WHERE SHE LIVED UNTIL 2008, WHEREIN SHE RELOCATED TO LYNWOOD CALIFORNIA. SHE WOULD LATER MOVE TO ATLANTA, GEORGIA WHERE SHE MET THE LOVE OF HER LIFE ROBERT P WHITTAKER AND THE IRON FIST TO OUR FAMILY.
ANGELA WAS A CONSTANT FORCE OF LOVE, CARE, AND A GREAT SHEPHERD TO ALL. ANGELA ENGAGED IN CONSTANT COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND GAVE HERSELF TIME AND TIME AGAIN. MY MOTHER WOULD LATER BECOME WHAT MANY OF MY CHILDHOOD FRIENDS CALLED HER "MAA DUKES". THE TERM REPRESENTED MUCH MORE THAN RESPECT. IT REPRESENTED DIGNITY, HUMILITY FOR LIFE, LOVE, MEEKNESS, AND PATIENCE. IT REPRESENTED COMMITMENT TO SERVICE. IT REPRESENTED THE KIND PERSON SHE WAS.
MY MOTHER ONCE TOLD ME "ITS A SERVICE TO HER TO BE A SERVICE TO OTHERS". WHAT A VERY REAL HUMAN THING TO SAY. SHE WAS NOT ONLY A MOTHER. SHE WAS A COUNSELOR, SHE WAS A DOCTOR, SHE WAS A LAWYER, SHE WAS A SAFE KEEPER, AND SHE HARBORED ALL SENSE OF PURPOSE, BUT THAT PURPOSE WAS ALSO LIFE.
SHE LIVED HER LIFE THROUGH LOVE, FOR IT IS THAT LOVE THAT WILL KEEP US ON THIS DAY AND FOREVERMORE. MAY OUR MOTHER AKA LIL LADY REST IN THAT LOVE.
