HER JOURNEY
Mary Lee, as she was so affectionately called, was loved by many. She grew up in Greenville
Mississippi and graduated from Colemen High School in 1967.
Mary was full of life and had a vibrant spirit. Her passion for dancing and love of movement was
well known. Her talent shone brightly when she won first place in a regional 4-H dance
competition. Mary's passion for physical fitness remained a cornerstone of her life, and she was
an avid dancer and a gym enthusiast. Others remember her climbing flights of stairs in high heels
with grace and confidence, even during her golden years. Mary lived a wholesome life.
After high school, Mary joined the Job Corps (Albuquerque, New Mexico). The training she
received there opened the door to a rewarding career with ExxonMobil. She began her
professional career path in Oklahoma City, and ten years later, she transferred to
Houston, Texas.
It was in Houston where she met Myron King and they were united in holy matrimony. Mary
loved her Houston community and proudly called it home. She resided there until she took her
final flight to be in the presence of the Lord.
HER FAITH
Mary Lee wholeheartedly committed her life to the Lord and Savior early on. Her faith was
unwavering and was a light to all who knew her. She freely shared 'The Word' with anyone who
was willing to listen, and she was a tireless prayer warrior for those in need, praying with and for
them. Like a faithful soldier on the battlefield, Mary served the Lord until the very end.
HER LEGACY
Her beloved family deeply mourns Mary Lee. She was preceded in death by her maternal
grandparents, Green and Ada Davis, her mother and father, Mary D. Simmons and Matthew
Simmons, her brother, CW Davis and her brother-in-law, Sam McGee II.
Her fond and precious memories will forever remain in the hearts of her loving daughters:

and her special grandchildren: Cortez Wells of Sydney Australia, Courtney Wells of Charolette,

Unforgettable childhood memories will be carried on by her sisters: Pearlie Simmons McGee of

She also leaves behind a loving circle of nieces and nephews who will forever treasure her
laughter and love, along with her many devoted cousins, dear friends and special classmates.
FINAL FAIRWELL
With our love and heavy hearts, we humbly submit the soul of our dearly loved one, Mary Lee
Simmons King, to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It broke our hearts to lose you, but we know
you did not go alone, part of us went with you, when God called you home. Sleep peacefully, our

We love you dearly, but
God's love for you is far greater than any other.
