Arthur Cole Chance, age 74, of Houston, Texas, passed away on March 3, 2026. He was born on January 10, 1952, in Old Ocean, Texas, to the late Dee Ira Chance II and Audrey Horvath Chance.
Arthur was raised in Sweeny and graduated from Sweeny High School. He later attended Wharton County Junior College and Southwest Texas State University. Arthur worked for many years as a Civil Quality Assurance Inspector and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his craft.
On September 24, 2022, he married Connie Andreas in New Braunfels, Texas. Arthur enjoyed fishing, boating, attending music concerts, traveling, sightseeing, and collecting coins, knives, and guns. Above all, he cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his brother, Dee Ira Chance III.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Chance of New Braunfels; his children, Megan Chance and fiancé Anthony Orozco, Casey Cole Chance and wife Ashley of Humble; by his stepchildren Nicolas Spearman, Kelsey Watts of Blanco, and Jessica Spearman of San Antonio; his grandchildren, Christopher Borrego, Blake Borrego, Carter Orozco, Noah Orozco, Charlie Orozco, Claudia Watts, and Gunner Watts. He is also survived by his aunt, Joyce Youngblood, his uncle, Albert Horvath, and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Wharton Funeral Home beginning at 12:00 p.m., with services at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Morton Cemetery in Richmond at 4:00 p.m.
