Daniel "Danny" King
February 15, 1964 – February 26, 2026
Danny King, a lifelong Californian and a man of unwavering character, passed away on February 26, 2026, shortly after celebrating his 62nd birthday.
A Life of Service and Devotion
Born and raised in the Golden State, Danny felt a calling to serve his country early in life. His time in the military was the defining chapter of his journey—not just for the discipline it instilled, but for the life it built. It was during his service that he met his wife; their bond, forged in the unique environment of military life, grew into a 33-year marriage defined by loyalty and shared history.
A Complex Spirit
To those who knew him best, Danny was a man of strong opinions and a "difficult" exterior—a trait he wore like armor. He lived on his own terms, challenging those around him and remaining fiercely true to himself. However, those who knew him also knew his softer side emerged in the kitchen. An avid cook, Danny expressed his care through the meals he prepared, using his culinary talents to bring the family together.
Family Legacy
Danny is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Gary and Peggy Jo King.
He leaves behind a large and vibrant family who will carry on his stories:
• His Siblings: Sisters Lisa Irving and Stacy Helms, and brother David King.
• His Children: Daughter Hannah Esquibel and her husband, Damien Esquibel.
• His Grandchildren: Julian and Elias Esquibel, who were his pride and joy.
The family of Daniel King has entrusted the care of their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the beautiful Espanola Valley 505-747-7477
