Angela M. "Ange" Demma

Angela "Ange" M. Demma, age 80, of Deerfield, passed away into the loving arms of the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Sitrin Health Care Center.

She was born in Utica, on October 8, 1944, a daughter of the late Jack and Anne (Nucito) Demma. Ange graduated from Whitesboro Central Schools and would go on to obtain her degree from Utica College. She had an illustrious teaching career spanning several decades, with the Whitesboro Central School District, until her retirement in 1999.

Ange was a loving and devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan and rarely missed a game. Ange loved her time spent with her family - whether it was one of her famous 4th of July parties or just simply making sauce, spaghetti and meatballs or sipping on Anisette - her family was the center of her universe.

Ange could always be found reading a good book and was an inspiration to many when it came to life-long learning.

She is survived by her brother, Jack (Alyce) Demma, FL; sister, Donna (Dana) Rauscher, Whitesboro; her nieces, who were like her daughters, Alaine (Charles) Canestrari, Whitesboro, Dana Marie (Chris) Machold, Utica and Kara (Jason) Tanoory, Canadaigua; cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Connor, Austin and Bryce Hartnett, Kiernan Leary, Emilee (Miguel) Reynes and AnnMarie Leary and Anna, Oliva, Jack, Luke and CJ Tanoory; her great-great-nieces, Stella and Maisy Reynes; adored canine companion, Tucker; and her next door neighbor, Stevie Karboski, who was very special to her. Ange is also survived by several cousins and loving extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Historic Old St. John's Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Ange's family will receive guests following Mass. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved parents, Jack and Anne.

The Demma family wishes to thank Margo Runion for the care and compassion shown to Ange this past year as well as Kennesha "Kiki" of the Sequoia Unit for the special care, attention and love shown to Ange during her stay.
