Angela Durst Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jan. 26 to Jan. 27, 2026.
DURST, ANGELA M. of Madison Heights; January 25, 2026; age 65; Passed away peacefully leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, creativity, and unwavering kindness. She was a devoted mother, cherished sister, caring aunt, proud grandmother, and a soul whose warmth was felt by all who knew her.

Angie loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was steadfast yet beautifully child-like, reflected in her sense of wonder and the gentle joy she carried throughout her life. It was this pure-hearted spirit that made her such a radiant presence and a comfort to so many.

She had a deep passion for music and dancing, finding joy in melody and movement, and she shared her gift by playing the piano. Her creativity flowed naturally through music, art, and the way she saw beauty in the world. Angie genuinely loved God's creations and was constantly capturing beaches, sunsets, mountains, and birds that reminded her of His work.

Angie had a profound love for animals. She rescued her beloved dog, Mayzi, and cared deeply for all living creatures, treating them with compassion and tenderness. She was always positive and optimistic, seeing the best in people and offering encouragement, grace, and hope wherever she went. Above all else, Angie loved her family deeply and remained fiercely loyal to those she held close.

Angie is predeceased by her husband David; survived by her sons, Dustin Durst and Matthew (Dominika) Durst; her beloved granddaughter, Jade Durst; her sister and caregiver Marlaina (Mike) Forgash; her niece Brandy (Pat) Ryan and her nephew the late Kevin Forgash; her great nephew Brandon, who took much joy in caring for her in her last days, and his sisters Kaylee and Lucy; and many other cherished family members and friends who will continue to carry her light forward.

She will be remembered for her faith, her creativity, her love of life, and the quiet joy she brought into the world. Though she is no longer with us, Angie's spirit lives on – in every song, every sunset, and every act of kindness inspired by her life.
