Angela Lynn Johnson

Angela Lynn Johnson was born August 14, 1973 in Knoxville Tennessee. She departed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 31, 2025 due to hypertension. She was a fun and sweet mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

Mostly a stay-at-home mom, Angel was also known for her service to the Lord throughout her life: she graduated from Knoxville Baptist Christian School in , went to First AME Zion, Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle, and later serving in the choir and as a Sunday school teacher at Grace Bible Baptist Church. Many Sunday mornings she prepared breakfast with Eddie Johnson for the homeless ministry. She also worked at Shannondale Nursing Home as a dietary aide. Her love of God and people was evident through her acts of kindness and her ability to turn negatives into positives. She enjoyed watching movies, spending time with her dog Zowey, going out to eat with her family and friends, and serving the Lord.

She was preceded in death by foster parents, Harold and Francene Woods, biological mother Barbara Miles, and husband, Eddie Johnson, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, proceeding in death, her daughter, Heather Johnson; daughter, Angel Blake; son, Eddie Johnson, Jr.; brother, Hugh Miles; sister, Jackie Penn; sister, Geanne Miles; niece, Debrina Penn; nephew, Miles ; niece, Jamesha Pruitt; nephew, James Pruitt; grandson, Armoni Johnson; granddaughter, Nytalia-Jade' London Burton; granddaughter, Akiera Johnson; grandson, Roman Adams.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 2-2:30 p.m. with a service to follow at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
