Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.D. Lee & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home on Aug. 21, 2023.
Angela Gail Wilkinson, maiden name King, was born on September 18, 1966 to Anna Belle and George Amiss King at Whiteman Air Force Base in
Knob Noster, Missouri, and was called to heaven August 11, 2023 with family by her side. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend... and somebody to many.
Throughout the course of her 56 years of life, Angela worked different jobs, but her proudest and most precious job was becoming a fulltime mother to her autistic son, Travis.
She graduated from Norborne High School in 1984, and shortly; after lived with her mother to help take care of her when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Eventually Angela ended up in St. Joseph, Missouri, and was there for many years, but has resided in
Rogersville, Missouri since 2006. That same year, she met her husband, Allen, at the place they both worked. They fell in love quickly, and were married on August 8, 2006. Her daughter Kelly got married two months later, and her grandson Carson was born in June of the next year. Funnily enough, the night her grandson was born she found out she was going to be a mother again, 21 years after her first, and the two of them always thought it was hilarious... it was definitely bonding for mother and daughter.
Her interests were all over the place: she loved science fiction, she was a huge fan of Star Trek (she knew all the old episodes in chronological order), she loved the color pink, she used to love to write a journal until she got so busy she couldn't do that, she loved Chinese food (no place could ever beat The Great Wall, a restaurant in St. Joseph), she loved to read (she passed that love on the her daughter), she thought vampires and werewolves were just so cool, and she loved getting on Pinterest. There are so many things she was interested in and so many things that she loved, but what she loved the most was her family. She wasn't aways the best at communicating or expressing how she felt to her eight siblings, she was the youngest, but she loved them dearly. She loved her husband, and absolutely adored her grandson, Carson. What she loved most in this were her daughter and her son, and she was the best mother anyone could ask for. She was a strong woman, a formidable force, a take charge kind of gal... she could never be replaced.
Angela is survived by Allen, her son, Travis, her daughter Kelly Smith, her grandson, Carson Smith, her four sisters: Sue North, Della Horstman, Debbie Vesser, and Peggy Struber; her two brothers; Willie King and George King; multiple nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bob King and Tom King; and a sister-in-law, Jill King.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a celebration of life service following at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
The family request that no one wear all black if possible; we are celebrating, not mourning.
