Angeline E. Ripley Jones, 89, passed away November 11, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10-11am, Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Westover Baptist Church in Des Moines. The funeral service will follow beginning at 11am at the church. Interment will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 11am at Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago, Minnesota.
Angeline Ellen Hervey was born March 12, 1936, at home in Nashville Township, Martin County, Minnesota to Walter and Hazel Hervey. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Huntley High School, Huntley, Minnesota where she was in many activities including cheerleading and band.
On June 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Donald Ripley at the First Baptist Church in Winnebago, Minnesota, where they were both members. They had four children, Susan, Douglas, Mona and Jayme.
Reverend Don was a pastor for the American Baptist Church and the family lived in numerous towns, mostly in Iowa. Following retirement, they made their home in Des Moines. Donald passed away suddenly in 2001. On August 29, 2009, Angie was united in marriage to Reverend Royce Jones and remained in the Des Moines area.
Angie had many talents including crafts, playing piano and sewing which included making quilts, clothes and banners for the church. She was very active and involved with the churches they served in, including the choir, women's ministries and serving as church secretary.
Angie is survived by her husband, Royce; her children, Susan (Daniel) Swires, Douglas (Ruth) Ripley, Mona (Jim) Goossen and Jayme Holt; grandchildren, Justin (Jessica) Swires, Joshua (Molly) Swires and Jessica (Casey) Hoerr, Amy (Reuben) Perez, Janette Whitmer and Israel (Kristen) Ripley, Nicholas (Rachel) Goossen and Rachel (Troy) Silvey and Jordan (Jacob) Knueven; many great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She is also survived by Royce's children, Marcie (Trent) King, Doug (Missy) Jones and Tracie (Bruce) Abkes and their families.
Angie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald and her siblings, Russell Hervey, Marvis Randall, Marlene Jose and infant brother, Dwight Hervey.
Memorial contributions may be directed to: Westover Baptist Church or Woodlands Creek Senior Living in Clive.
The service will be livestreamed. A link will be posted on Angie's obituary page at www.IlesCares.com, where you may also leave online condolences.
Angie's faith was a very important part of her life. She is now in the presence of Jesus.
