Angelo Guy DiRuzza, 92, of Whitesboro, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, @ 9:51 p.m. at Wynn Hospital in Utica, New York.
Born on January 21, 1933, in Utica, Angelo was the son of the late Thomas and Congetta (Colosimo) DiRuzza. He was a graduate of Proctor High School.
He was a United States Navy veteran having served on the U.S.S. Hornet, a ship that was commissioned shortly before WWII and received many citations for its accomplishments.
On November 10, 1956, Angelo married Carol Ann Lindsey in Hollywood, California, a blessed and happy union of 68 years.
Angelo was a maintenance foreman at Special Metals for 35 years before retirement.
Angelo was a communicant of the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes and was a member of the Tau Phi Zeta fraternity for many years serving as President for 10 of those years.
Angelo cherished his family. He was a loving husband and father and had a special bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to hunt, and after retiring, Angelo found a great deal of joy in golfing and traveling to Florida with Carol Ann.
Surviving besides his beloved wife, Carol Ann are four daughters, Cinthia Zielinski, Sandra (Mark) Schultz, Shelly (Kevin) Schultz and Connie (Mark) LaValley; two sisters, Marie Strassberger and Joann McKelvey; cherished grandchildren, Joshua Stevens, Samson Delaney and Kendall Schultz, Lauren and Joseph Zielinski, Jared, Derek and Jacob Schultz, Devin and Mackenzie LaValley; great-grandchildren, Ava, Cooper, Hannah and Heidi Stevens, Bauer and Cason Schultz, Reed and Ryan Schultz, Luca Delaney, and Sonny LaValley and several nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, March 18th from 2 to 3 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica. Funeral services will commence following visitation at 3 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Salerno officiating.
