Carol DiRuzza Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rossi Family Funeral Home, Inc. on Feb. 2, 2025.
Carol Jean (Wilson) DiRuzza, 86, of Canton, left us peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at her home in Charlotte, NC. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will always be remembered for her devotion to her family.
Born on October 14, 1938, in Newcomerstown, OH, to Ethel and Willis Wilson, Carol graduated from Timken Vocational High School in 1956 in cosmetology and immediately began working at Millie's Beauty Salon.
On August 27, 1960, Carol was united in marriage to Don DiRuzza at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton, beginning an inseparable partnership that would span 62 years. Their five children and precious grandchildren brought them untold joy and pride throughout their life together. Carol was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church parishes in Canton and Siesta Key, FL.
She was a homemaker for many years and then returned to the workforce at Ethel Wilson Fashions. Carol, along with husband Don and mother Ethel, owned several Canton-area clothing stores. This career in fashion brought her many years of immense fulfillment with buying trips, fashion shows, and having countless interactions with loyal customers and friends. She was a fashionista known for her impeccable style and elegant taste.
Carol also enjoyed the tranquility of her home in Siesta Key/Sarasota, FL. She treasured the beautiful surroundings, great weather, beach walks and her amazing group of friends. She enjoyed traveling and took numerous trips and cruises with Don, family members and friends. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including cooking and entertaining, tending to her garden, dancing, listening to music or audio books and reading a good book. She was always willing to play a game of gin, euchre, bridge and Rummikub. She loved Heggy's nuts and chocolates, and a good dirty martini. Cheers to a life well lived with love, style and grace!
Carol was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Don, her beloved son, Greg, and her parents, Ethel and Willis Wilson.
Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters: Melinda (Scott) Brachmann of Winnetka, IL; Marci (Derek) Jones of Charlotte, NC; Michelle (Scott) Kauffman of Canton, OH; and Monica (Arnie) Rochester of Rocky River, OH; nine grandchildren: Mason, Pierce, and Shelby Brachmann; Samantha and Marisa Jones; Spencer and Zachary Kauffman; Reece and Ella Rochester; one great grandchild, Spencer Noelle Kauffman; and sister Barbara Rogers of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The service will be held at Faith Family Church 8200 Freedom Ave NW, North Canton, OH 44720 on Saturday, February 8th. The family will receive guests at 10:00 am before the Celebration of Life at 11:30 am in the Chapel. Please use Door B entrance.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Carol's name to Siffrin, 3688 Dressler Road NW, Canton, OH 44718 or through their website at Siffrin.org.

I considered Carol a dear friend even though we knew each other for only three years. She was a high class lady. I always enjoyed being with her. She was fun. Had a mischievous nature and I will miss her. Sally Garfield.
