Fred A. Leight Sr.

Fred A. Leight Sr. age 86 passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026 after a period of declining health shortly after being in hospice care at Sprenger Health Care Rose Lane. Fred was born on October 27, 1939 in Cleveland , Ohio to the late William and Celeste (Jenney) Leight. Beloved husband to Sylvia (Meracky) Leight who would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this month. Dear Father to Fred A. (Angie) Leight Jr., Grandfather to Addison Leight and Brea Snyder. Great Grandfather to Paisley and Pierson Snyder. Brother to Margaret Rhodes-Maurer, and the late Barbara Leight and Elizabeth Karovich. Best known as "Uncle Freddie" to his nieces and nephews. Fred loved family gatherings with his nieces and nephews and was usually the last man standing. Fred served in the United States Air Force as an AP (Air Police) from 1957 and was honorably discharged in1966. Fred retired in 1999 as a machinist. Fred was a big baseball fan and never missed a Cleveland (Indians) Guardians game on TV. Fred's wishes will be honored and there will be no funeral services and he will be cremated.
