Angelo Lazzaro “Buck,” age 93, passed away on March 12, 2026.
He was the loving son of the late Nicolina and Domenico Lazzaro. Beloved brother of Helen Carnuccio and Domenick Lazzaro, and the late Frank Lazzaro, Alphonse Lazzaro, and Mary “Diddy” Lipznski. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Angelo loved sports from an early age and played football in his youth. Throughout his life he remained a loyal fan of Philadelphia teams, always cheering on the hometown clubs.
Born and raised on South Sheridan Street, Angelo lived his entire life in the same home where he grew up. He was a true South Philadelphia neighborhood man who took pride in his block, his parish, and the lifelong friendships he made there.
He was baptized at St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi Church, the same parish where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. A devout Catholic, Angelo faithfully attended Mass every Sunday and remained deeply connected to his church community throughout his life.
Angelo worked for many years at Victory Sheet Metal in South Philadelphia and later retired from Crown Can Company while still in his 50s. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, and his family will receive military honors upon his entombment.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Pennsylvania Burial Company, 1327–29 South Broad Street, Philadelphia (ample off-street parking available).
Funeral Mass will follow the viewing on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary Magdalen de Pazzi Church, 8th and Montrose Streets.
Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered.
