Angjeliqi, known as Angie to loved ones, passed away on August 26, 2025.

Angie was born in Korce, Albania in 1955 and was the oldest of three siblings. Growing up, Angie loved reading books while also enjoyed helping her father at the local farmers' market selling produce.

Angie graduated from culinary school and eventually became a head chef. She worked at various restaurants, hotels, and headed kitchens at factories where they prepared food for hundreds of workers daily. She was someone who was never tired of work and whose daily routine involved getting up at 5 AM.

Angie immigrated to Greece in 1992 with her husband and her two boys, then 6 and 8, in search of a better future for her family. Faced with adversity and a daunting new environment while having to learn a new language at the age of 37, Angie and her family had to re-build their life from scratch. Often working three or more jobs, she was determined to create a better life for her two kids.

As fate would have it, Angie and her family moved once more in 2001. This time they immigrated to the United States and settled in Glen Ellyn, IL, a suburb just to the west of Chicago. Angie and her family had to start over their life once more. Another new country and another new language to learn, this time at the age of 46. Armed with the same persistence and determination Angie went hard at work. She continued to work long days and multiple jobs at once. Angie's favorite job was at Costco, working as a cake decorator. She started work there in 2009 and retired after 12 years in 2021. Angie moved to Clearwater, FL in 2014 to enjoy the sunny warm weather.

Angie was full of life and always had a positive impact on the people around her. She had a strong personality and was always independent while at the same time being caring and giving. She always kept herself busy and rarely took a moment to sit down and rest. She loved cooking and trying out new recipes. Some of her favorite foods to make were cheese pies, stuffed bell peppers, and traditional Albanian deserts such as "hallve", "kurabie", and "sheqerpare". She loved cooking for her family and particularly her grandkids. Just as she cared deeply for those around her, she also took joy in caring for herself. She loved to dress elegantly, tend to her hair and nails, practice yoga, stay active, travel the world, and nurture the friendships that brough her so much happiness.

She will be greatly missed and her absence will be difficult to fill.
