Anibal Navarro, 82, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away surrounded by family on November 5, 2025. Born on September 4, 1943, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of Martina Muñoz and Quintin Navarro. Anibal grew up in San Lorenzo, where his upbringing shaped his deep sense of family, faith, and generosity; values he carried throughout his life.A true entrepreneur at heart, Anibal owned and operated several stores in both Puerto Rico and Chicago, proudly serving his community for decades. His work ethic and commitment to helping others earned him the respect of neighbors, customers, and friends alike. Beyond business, Anibal gave selflessly to his church as a faithful Christian. Always the first to lend a hand or support a cause without hesitation. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures: tending his garden, playing dominoes and cards, singing, barbecuing, and sharing laughter with loved ones. A gifted musician, he played several instruments and loved bringing family and friends together through food, music, and conversation. Those who knew Anibal remember his generous heart, quick wit, and infectious humor. He was lighthearted yet wise, the kind of person whose advice was always thoughtful and rooted in experience. A master negotiator and natural storyteller, he could turn any gathering into a moment of joy. He often opened his doors to anyone in need, offering a safe and welcoming home to those who needed it most. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband and a caring father who always put his family first. Anibal was preceded in death by his parents, Martina Muñoz and Quintin Navarro. He is survived by his wife, Norma López; his children, Ivette Baiza, Evelyn Navarro De Aquino, Juan Carlos Navarro, and Veronica Acevedo; and his beloved grandchildren, Katie, Nicholas, Milania, Tatiana, Izaiah, Jaileen, Juan Carlos, Esteban, Camila, and Saúl each of whom carries forward his warmth, humor, and strength of spirit. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Eliza, Armahni, and Royale, who continue to bring joy and light to the family he cherished. He left this world better than he found it, and his legacy lives on in the lives he touched.
