Anita Cortez

Anita Cortez's radiant spirit is carried on by her children Joe Gomez, Robert Gomez, Maria Gomez and Lazaro Gomez, passed away on May 14, 2024, after a long battle with Lung Disease. Her final moments were spent peacefully surrounded by family and close friends. Known for her vivacious personality, her passion for dancing, and not to mention her love for cooking. Anita will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was a force of nature, with an endless river of love and positivity. The Gomez family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joe & Veronica Gomez, Robert & Lucy Gomez, Maria & Adrian Campos, and Lazaro & Elizabeth Gomez. Her grandchildren, Adrian Campos Jr., Anthony Gomez, Julio Andrade III, Andrew Gomez, Adriana Campos, Carlos Campos, Jasmine Campos, Briana Andrade, Jazyln Gomez, Jazell Gomez, Anaiah Gomez & Lazaro Gomez Jr. Her siblings, Rosanna Cortez and Israel Cortez Jr. A private ceremony will be held at the Leal Funeral Home at 708 College Ave., South Houston, Texas 77587, on May 21, 2024 at 9:00 am and the family will receive friends there at 10:00 am. Following the ceremony we will meet at the Historic Hollywood Cemetery on 3506 North Main St., Houston, TX 77009 for the burial. Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome, but not necessary.
