María nació el 13 de marzo de 1965 en Teocaltiche, Jalisco, México, hija de Jesús y Marcelina Álvarez. Posteriormente, se estableció en Houston, donde contrajo matrimonio con su amado esposo Elpidio Benítez.
Durante aproximadamente ocho años, María trabajó en Memorial Hermann en el área de atención al paciente, desempeñando su labor con dedicación y esmero. En su tiempo libre, disfrutaba de jugar bingo y lotería, bailar con alegría, cuidar su jardín y compartir momentos con sus seres queridos.
Le sobreviven su esposo Elpidio Benítez, sus hijas Gloria Álvarez y Angelicca Benítez, sus hijos Crisantos Benítez, Elpidio Benítez Jr., y Osvaldo Benítez; sus hermana Concepción Álvarez, sus hermanos Chuy Álvarez, Martín Álvarez y Felipe Álvarez, así como su mama Marcelina Álvarez.
También deja un legado de amor en sus ocho nietos: Lizz, Alondra, Brian, Jazlean, Valentina, Aiden, Romeo y Mateo.
Maria fue precedida en fallecimiento por su hermana Rosario Álvarez y su padre Jesús Alvarez.
María será recordada con cariño por todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla. Su alegría, generosidad y amor por la vida permanecerán en nuestros corazones.
