Anita Marie Davis passed away from a severe stroke at Cleveland Clinic/Akron General surrounded by her loving family on September 30, 2024.
Anita was born in Akron on July 8, 1956 to Joseph Patric Davis and Mary Louise (Steffens) Davis. She graduated from St. Sebastian Elementary School (1970), Our Lady of the Elms High School (1974), and The University of Akron (1978). She had just participated in her 50th reunion celebration with her Elms classmates.
Anita was preceded in death by her beloved parents Joseph and Mary. She is survived by her sister Mary Louise Moore of Jackson Township; brothers Gregory (Alix) of Granada Hills, CA, Christopher (Barbara) of Stow, and Timothy (Cecelia) of Akron; niece and nephews Lauren Davis, Ryan Davis, Justin Moore, Cameron Moore; and many cousins.
Anita had a long career in both education and the retail industry; she was most recently employed at Meijer. She enjoyed gatherings with friends and family, social outings, nature walks, and in particular doting on her niece and nephews. Anita was that rare person who always placed others ahead of herself, and leaves an enduring legacy of unconditional love, unfailing kindness, and patience. She will be deeply missed.
Cremains will be available for viewing during Visitation at Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Avenue, Akron, OH from 10-11 AM on Monday October 7. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, followed by interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will take place at Guy's Party Center at 500 E. Waterloo Rd following the graveside service.
The entire family would like to express its gratitude to Akron General's Emergency Department and its CICU for their superior, compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Archbishop Hoban High School Joseph P. Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund.
