ANITA REYNOLDS HIDALGO Anita R. (Lela) Hidalgo passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 5, 2010, at the age of 99. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, and a resident of St. Joseph Manor in Thibodaux, LA. She is survived by her two sons, Arthur J. Hidalgo, III and his wife Paula of Slidell, LA, and William H. Hidalgo, Sr. and his wife Judy of Patterson, LA; five grandchildren, Holly Hidalgo DeKeyzer and her husband Justin of Baton Rouge, LA, Cherie Hidalgo Laiche and her husband Cary of Berwick, LA, Arthur J. Hidalgo, IV and his wife Susan of Ellisville, MO, William H. Hidalgo, Jr. and his wife Judith of Berwick, LA, and Danette Hidalgo Murret and her husband Brad of New Orleans, LA; and fourteen great-grandchildren, C.J. Laiche, Jeanne Marie Hidalgo, Artie Hidalgo, Max Murret, Blake Hidalgo, Connor Laiche, Maddy Murret, Elise Hidalgo, Mason Murret, Bradley Hidalgo, Olivia DeKeyzer, Matthew Murret, Mary Grace Murret, and Victoria DeKeyzer. Known as Lela to everyone, she retired in 1976, after numerous years of service, from Milne Boys Home, City of New Orleans. Her favorite pastimes were playing Bridge with friends and supporting her New Orleans Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Hidalgo, Jr.; her parents William H. and Wilhelmina Reynolds; her two brothers William Reynolds, Jr. and Edward Reynolds, and sister Gertrude Reynolds. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, October 8, 2010, St. Dominic Church, 775 Harrison Avenue, New Orleans, LA, at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM, with burial following at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Joseph Manor, 1201 Cardinal Drive, Thibodaux, LA 70301, (985) 446-9050. Greenwood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
