Anita Iocco Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes - Laingsburg Chapel on Dec. 11, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Anita J. Iocco
With profound sadness, we share that Anita J. Iocco passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, at the age of 88, with loving family at her side.
Anita was born on September 10, 1937, to Rex and Rosanna Remus. Her family's strong Christian faith shaped her lifelong devotion to the Lord. Anita spent time every day reading scripture and lifting her family up in prayer.
On October 15, 1955, Anita married the love of her life, Ralph Iocco, and together they shared 65 years before Ralph's passing in April 2021. Their marriage was a testament to love and faith. They raised four children-Steve (Angie), Doug (Wendy), Kathy (Tom), and Gordon (Valerie)-and were blessed with nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Family was the cornerstone of Anita's life.
Anita graduated from Ovid High School. She lived in the Laingsburg/Ovid/St. Johns area and Monticello, Indiana for several years. She most recently worked at Cartridges Are Us in St. Johns where she was admired for her commitment and quality of her work.
Anita's passion for serving the Lord was clear in her active involvement in all her church communities, including Grove Bible Church, Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello, IN and St. Johns First Baptist Church. She was a gifted singer and musician, sharing her talents on the organ and piano to bring joy to others. Her faith was central to her life.
Beyond her spiritual devotion, Anita enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, toll-painting, cake decorating, and crafting. Her creativity and generosity touched countless lives through the beautiful gifts she made for family and friends.
Anita is lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her sisters, Rosemary Smith, Ruth Hills and sister-n-law, Kathy Remus; many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and her Monticello Reynold's family, Mark, Becky and Heather Jo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and in-laws: Robert and Elsie Remus, Richard and Gerry Remus, Art and Carolann Farr, Frank Remus, Fred Smith, and Glenn Hills.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Baptist Church, St. Johns, Michigan, on Saturday, May 16th, 2026,(time to be announced). In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Anita's memory are encouraged to contribute to her favorite charity, Beacon of Hope Ministries at First Baptist Church, St. Johns.
Anita and her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the wonderful, caring, and compassionate staff at Gunnisonville Meadows Senior Living for their support over the past 3½ years. We are especially thankful for our dear friend there, Joe Smith, whose kindness and friendship have meant so much to us.
