Anita R. Maravelli, 87, of Mahoningtown passed away the morning of February 27, 2024 at UPMC Passavant.
Born in New Castle on April 30, 1936 Anita was the daughter of the late Vasilios and Quina Conti Mutsatsos.
On October 16, 1954 Anita married her beloved husband, Ammie R. Maravelli. Ammie preceded her in death on January 19, 2023.
Anita had worked at K-Mart for more than fifteen years until she retired.
She was a member of Queen of Holy Rosary Church in Vienna, Ohio and the former St. Lucy Church in Mahoningtown.
Anita enjoyed traveling, going to bingo and going to baseball games with her family. A loving mother and grandmother and great-grandmother, Anita's greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Anita is survived by her children, Rene Penn (James) of Warren, OH, Ann Kumrow (Bill) of Mt. Jackson, PA, Laverne Malone (Dr. Dan Malone) of Mahoningtown, PA, Louis (Patty) Quarto, of Eighty-Four, PA, Bill Maravelli (Darlene) of Mt. Jackson, PA and Dr. Ammie Maravelli of Mahoningtown, PA, one sister, Lorraine Hanna (Kevin), two sister-in-laws, Betty Maravella of New Castle and Joyce Quarto of Michigan and three grandchildren, Ashley Kumrow, Austin Malone and Cole Malone and one great-grandchild, Arianna Zarlingo.
Visitation will be on Friday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Queen of Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Dr., Vienna, Ohio.
A Sung Requiem Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Queen of Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Dr., Vienna, Ohio. Father John Fongemie will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery, Mahoningtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the Family suggest donations for Mass intentions.
