Anita Barrera Nunez

Anita Gonzales Nunez, born on January 23, 1939, in Loving, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Anita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose life was rooted in love, strength, and family. She is survived by her husband, Rosario Nunez, with whom she shared many years of marriage and cherished memories.

She leaves behind her beloved children: her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Sr. and Yvonne Renteria, Ralph Sr. and Lori Renteria, Rudy Sr. and Julie Renteria, and Robert Renteria; and her daughters Ruby Guerra, Josie Renteria, Joanne Renteria, and son-in-law Andamo Rader.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Bonifacio Gonzales and Sofia Barrera Gonzales; her sisters Francis Alarcon, Angelita Saiz, Coltilde Salazar, and Olivia Gonzales; and her brother Manuel Gonzales.

She is survived by her siblings Elsie Gonzales Parraz, Catalina Gonzales, Lucinda Hernandez, Rosa Abila, Elia Tapia, Delma Gonzales, Merced Gonzales, Guillermo Gonzales, Alcario Resa, Esmael Gonzales, Domingo Gonzales, Ramon Resa, and Joe Gonzales.

Anita's legacy continues through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and greatgreatgrandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish her memory.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her strength, and the kindness she showed to everyone around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Services will be held at Hadley Marcom Funeral Chapel in Visalia, California, on April 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A viewing will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and funeral services at 4:00 p.m.
