Anita Sue Tharpe, 64, of Mountain Home, AR passed away at home on October 6th, 2021, with her husband of 46 years, Bobby Tharpe, and family at her side. She was born on October 5th, 1957, in Eldorado, Kansas and moved to Mountain Home, AR as a small child where she later met her husband. Sue traveled the world with him throughout his military career in the Air Force. Upon returning to Mountain Home, she worked at the front desk of the Baxter Bulletin for fifteen years until her retirement. After her retirement, she did what she wanted to do. She read books, camped with her family, rode horses, sat by the campfire, and made memories with those she loved.
Sue was an independent, stubborn, sassy, loving woman. She was a strong and resilient woman who loved her family. Sue impacted everyone she met, and to know her was to love her. She had an attitude bigger than she ever was and a laugh that could light up a room. Her facial expressions said all that needed to be said, but she wasn't afraid to let her bird fly if she needed to.
Sue will be greatly missed by her survivors: her husband, Bobby Tharpe; her children, Joseph (Misty) Tharpe, Alyssa (Robert Rowden) Pendergrass, Rainier Pendergrass; her grandchildren, Chase Jackson, Angel Pendergrass, Riley Rowden, Damian Pendergrass, Shane Rowden, Zach Rowden, and Avril Pendergrass (Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart); brothers Bill (Suzie) Lawless, Don Lawless, Rick Lawless, Roy Tharpe; sisters, Jane (Ezra) Roberts, Miki Kindrick, Carol (Richard) Ross, and Brenda (Danny) Douglas and by countless more family members and friends she considered family. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lawless, Louise Lawless, Bobby Tharpe Sr., and Julia Ann Bennett; her sisters, Pat Bates and Mary Halfacre.
Sue wished to be cremated and did not like funeral homes or funerals. She wanted a party, and she always got what she wanted. Family will be hosting a party at her home 118 Lansbury Lane, Mountain Home, AR on Sunday, October 10th, at 4:00pm. Everyone is invited.
Arrangements are under the direction of Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
