Anita Thornton-Tyson Obituary
Anita will be dearly remembered for her hard work, family-first, and positive persona. She rarely left a room without making people laugh with her. She could often be found at various art shows, and she loved collecting different antiques and eclectic pieces throughout her life.
Anita is survived by her son Shannon (Christy) King, granddaughter Aliyah, nephews Sterling and Shawn Thornton, and many cherished friends made over her lifetime. She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Bobby Tyson, uncle Sterling Cheatom, and grandparents Sterling and Willie Mae Cheatom.
Memorial services will be held in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main Street, Mt. Clemens on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with family and friends welcomed at 10:00. The Rev. Jacquelynne D. Burge, Pastor of Vinson Chapel AMEC will officiate services.
