Mueller Memorial - White Bear LakeJoseph Maxfield Warren, age 89, of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026.
Born on December 12, 1936, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, to Joseph and Virginia (Maxfield) Warren, Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who placed family above all else.
After graduating from high school, Joe attended Michigan Technological University, where he earned a degree in Engineering in 1958. He married the love of his life, Jane Kump, on February 7, 1957. Shortly after, he began his career at 3M as a Chemical Engineer. Over the next 36 years, Joe held numerous leadership positions both in Minnesota and across Europe, eventually retiring as Executive Vice President.
Joe and Jane shared 67 beautiful years of marriage and raised six children, instilling in them strong values, a deep moral compass, and a love for family. Although his career was demanding, Joe always made family his top priority. He cherished spending time camping, fishing, and traveling together throughout the United States and abroad. These family traditions continued as they welcomed 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren into their lives.
Joe was recognized for his professional achievements with an honorary Doctorate from Michigan Tech and was elected as a founding member of the Academy of Chemical Engineering. He was also actively involved in his community, serving as President of the Lions Club and participating in several annual shows.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jane; their six children: Joseph (June) Warren, Linda (James) Keenan, Suzanne (Marlin) Braun, David (Tamara) Warren, Steven (Jeanna) Warren, and Shari Warren; 13 grandchildren: Jeffrey Keenan, Jacob (Jessica) Keenan, Chelsy (Jake) Baldauf, Jessica (Ben) Duerst, Shelby (McKenzie) Rathmanner, Nathan (Michelle) Warren, Hannah (Andrew) Aaroen, Jonathan (Ruby) Warren, Allison (Brett) Fredrichs, Katherine (Nicholas) Davenport, Benjamin Warren, Grant Gaertner, and Cassandra Gaertner; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sidney (Sue) Tomlinson.
