Anita R. Trujillo 75, born in Roswell, NM, and longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Anita attended Highland High School and was a loving wife of 51 years, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, & friend. She was a kind-hearted, loving, dedicated, & strong person. Her passions included: reading, cooking, baking, enjoying her pets, taking walks, and going on scenic drives. She also enjoyed gathering with her children for special events, as well as attending local social events & spending quality time with her entire family. She loved attending her children’s school & sports activities. Throughout her 40+ year career, she worked as an X-Ray Technician in New Mexico.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Les and Mary Hix, sister Patty Clark, brothers-in-laws Chuck Clark, David Detwiler and Jaime Trujillo. Anita is survived by her husband Edward Trujillo, children: David (Lindsey) Trujillo, Brian (Ashley) Trujillo; Stepchildren: Donald (Jill) Trujillo, Tom (Jackie) Trujillo, Debbie (Albert) Padilla, Lawrence Trujillo; Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also, her beloved brother and sister: Carol Detwiler and Steve (Nancy) Hix; Sister-in-laws; Rosemary Trujillo and Doris Trujillo. Many nephews, nieces, & extensive family members and friends.
Serving as Pallbearers will be David Trujillo, Brian Trujillo, Ryan Padilla, Dylan Trujillo, Gavin Trujillo, and Roman Trujillo.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Queen of Heaven Church on 5300 Claremont Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, (505) 881-1772, with internment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery and Mausoleum, at 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, N.M. 87109, (505) 821-0800.
