Troy, Illinois - Anita Marie Huff Winters, 92, of Troy, IL, died at 11:42 a.m. Sat. Mar. 15, 2025 at Liberty Village in Maryville, IL.
She was born June 30, 1932 in Granite City to the late Raymond J. and Marie (Perry) Huff.
Anita retired from the Granite City School District after more than 30 years of service. She had been an elementary school teacher but her favorite position was serving the high school students as a counselor. She loved to read and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
She is survived by a son: Walter Alan Winters of Troy; 4 grandchildren: Melodi Marie Davies, Alan Gerald Winters, Chani Winning and Eric Weiland; and 6 great-grandchildren: Alaska, Logan, Loken, Quinn, Josh and Jack.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse: Rollo Alan Winters; 3 brothers: Raymond Huff, Richard "Dick" Huff and John Huff; and a sister: Margo Evans.
Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thurs. Apr. 3, 2025 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon Fri. Apr. 4, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Fr. Alfred Tumwesigye as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
